Way back in 2006 John Mansfield created the first of his CDs called ‘Inspiring Calm: Scriptures and Reflections’.
Inspired by the passage in Mark 6: 30-32 where Jesus invites his busy disciples to ‘Come away with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’ John began putting a series of audio tracks together that reflected his desire to spend more time with Jesus in a remote and ideally scenic quiet place.
In a noisy and crowded world John yearned to take up Jesus’ invitation to try and enjoy some precious moments of solitude with God in the midst of the busyness of everyday life.

These days it’s not easy to escape the sound of traffic, alarms, or lawn-mowers and any brief time of quiet we manage to find may easily get interrupted, but when he can John enjoys spending time outdoors enjoying God’s Creation and trying to put the stress of modern life into some kind of perspective.
Since creating his first CD, ‘Inspiring Calm’ John has produced four more albums. His spoken word CDs combine Scripture readings with calming background music and sounds from nature (birdsong, ocean waves etc) and his recordings have regularly featured on Premier Christian Radio’s ‘Saturday Quiet Time’ hosted by Tony Miles.

Some words from John Mansfield - ‘After careful thought and much prayer I took the big step of leaving my 9-5 job (of many years) to focus on producing new recordings. It really felt like a stepping out of the boat moment but it’s so good to know that the Jesus is with me and by his help I’ve been able to now add a new single TURNING AWAY, TURNING BACK to the Downloads page’.
